We ask that you consider using our new online consultation service if you are calling regarding a routine matter.
By using this service, it helps free up the phone lines for those patients who need urgent medical help on the day. It is also a convenient way for those patients who do not need an urgent appointment to contact us at a time when it suits them. You can submit a request 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Once the surgery receives your request, it will be actioned and if you require a call from a clinician, you will receive this within 48 hours, (longer during weekends and Bank Holidays.)
We have asked our team members to ask you some questions about why you are calling today. This will allow you to be directed to the right team member to help you, whether that be a GP, a nurse, or one of our admin team.
You also have the option of registering for online services (different from online consultations). Please ask reception for your unique username and password to access online services via this website. By having access to online services, you can order prescriptions, view your medical records, test results, and book appointments (this will be available again soon, as it was suspended during the pandemic.)
Urgent Access Clinic
Every morning we run an Urgent Access Clinic. This is intended for urgent cases that need to be seen on that day and cannot wait until a routine appointment is available. These
Appointments are between 8am and 11am each weekday morning.
We ask that patients telephone 01274 957846 between 8am and 10am in the morning to be allocated a slot in the urgent access clinic for that day.
Community Pharmacy Referral Scheme
Pharmacists are highly qualified people and you can be offered a private consultation with them at a pharmacy of your choice. They can treat a lot of conditions and most appointments are offered on the same day.
- For problems with your eyes, please contact your optician.
- For problems with your teeth or mouth, please contact your dentist.
- For minor conditions, your local pharmacy offers free help and advice without the need for an appointment, you may also be able to obtain your medication free of charge under the common ailments scheme. If needed, they will direct you into the GP surgery.
Appointments when the surgery is closed:
We are working together with our neighbouring practices to bring you more appointments when our surgery is closed.
The out of hours are held at Liversedge Health Centre Mon ‑ Fri from 6.30pm ‑ 9.30pm and on Saturdays 9am ‑ 5pm.
If you need an appointment at these times please tell our receptionist who will be able to book an appointment for you.

Liversedge Health Centre is on the 268 bus route between Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike. The nearest bus stops are outside Job Centre Plus (to Heckmondwike) and prior to Valley Road (to Cleckheaton).
Practice Nurses
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. You can make an appointment by calling at reception in person, or by telephoning 01274 957846 between 8.00am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Appointments with a nurse can be booked up to four weeks in advance.
We have a number of early morning appointments available with the Practice Nurse.

The Surgery would like to invite you to use the NHS App
The new, simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
What does the NHS App do?
Use the NHS App to:
- check your symptoms
- find out what to do when you need help urgently
- book and manage appointments at your GP surgery
- order repeat prescriptions
- view your GP medical record securely
- register to be an organ donor
- choose how the NHS uses your data
Connecting GP surgeries to the NHS App
Patients at 95% of GP surgeries in England can now use all the features of the NHS App.
You can check if your GP surgery is connected when you open the app for the first time. If it’s not, you can register your email address, and we’ll notify you when they go live.
If your GP surgery is not connected, you can still download the app and use it to check your symptoms and find out what to do when you need help urgently.
Keeping your data secure
When your surgery is connected, and you register in the app, we’ll carry out checks to confirm your identity. The app will then securely connect to information from your GP surgery. To keep your access secure, we’ll send a security code to your phone each time you use the app.
